AFRINIC IPv6 Certification and Technical Training Workshop Uganda 2026

Event Overview

The DNS Academy, an initiative of the Uganda DNS Forum, in partnership with the Internet Society Uganda Chapter and supported by AFRINIC, is pleased to announce the AFRINIC IPv6 Training Workshop Uganda 2026.

This training workshop is designed to strengthen technical capacity and accelerate IPv6 adoption in Uganda by equipping network engineers, system administrators, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), academic institutions, government ICT teams, and digital infrastructure stakeholders with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in IPv6 deployment and management.

The workshop aligns with Uganda’s Digital Transformation Roadmap and broader efforts to enhance the resilience, scalability, and future-readiness of the country’s Internet infrastructure.

Theme

Building Uganda’s Future Internet Through IPv6 Adoption and Capacity Development

Objectives

The training workshop aims to:

  • Build technical capacity in IPv6 deployment and management.
  • Increase awareness on the importance of IPv6 for Internet growth and sustainability.
  • Support organizations transitioning from IPv4 to IPv6.
  • Strengthen local technical communities and collaboration around Internet infrastructure development.
  • Promote best practices in network management, routing, and DNS operations within IPv6 environments.
