Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction & Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to DNS Academy, the official technical capacity-building and digital infrastructure certification platform of the Uganda DNS Forum, managed by Infinity Computers and Communications Company (i3C), the .UG Country Code Top-Level Domain (ccTLD) Registry. By creating an account, enrolling in any self-paced course or partner cohort track, or using our Instructor Studio, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Eligibility & User Accounts
DNS Academy provides learning portals for students, network engineers, developers, researchers, and accredited instructors:
- Accurate Registration Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete details (full name, valid email address, phone number, and organization/institution) when registering for a Student or Instructor account.
- Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and Optional Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) authenticator codes.
- Instructor & Mentor Accounts: Instructor registrations and authored courses may undergo administrative review and moderation by the DNS Academy Secretariat prior to public publication in the Course Catalog.
3. Free Tuition, Self-Paced Courses & External Partner Tracks
DNS Academy offers two primary modes of technical training:
- Self-Paced Academy Courses: Hosted directly on DNS Academy, including interactive curriculum modules, video lectures, hands-on lab workbooks, and final knowledge evaluations.
- External Partner & Cloud Cohort Tracks: Offered in collaboration with global technology and Internet governance partners (including Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, ICANN, and ISOC). When you enroll in an external cohort track, your registration details are recorded by DNS Academy for cohort onboarding, and you may also be subject to the terms of service of the respective partner learning platform.
4. Assessments, Academic Integrity & Certifications
To uphold the technical credibility of DNS Academy credentials:
- All quiz evaluations, lab exercises, and certification assessments must be completed independently by the registered learner.
- Digital Certificates of Completion are issued upon completing all required curriculum modules and achieving the minimum passing score on the course assessment (or upon verified completion of an external partner cohort).
- DNS Academy reserves the right to revoke any certificate obtained through misrepresentation, automated script manipulation, or academic dishonesty.
5. Instructor Studio & Curriculum Contributions
Instructors and mentors using the frontend Instructor Studio warrant that any course descriptions, syllabi, video lectures, and assessment questions they upload or link are original, properly licensed for educational use, or authorized by the respective partner organization. By publishing a course on DNS Academy, instructors grant Uganda DNS Forum and i3C a non-exclusive license to host and deliver the material to enrolled learners.
6. Intellectual Property & Acceptable Use
All platform software, logos, course materials, lab guides, and certificates on DNS Academy are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. Learners may download and use course materials solely for personal, non-commercial educational development. You may not redistribute, sell, scrape, or attempt to compromise the security or availability of the DNS Academy platform.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
DNS Academy educational tracks and laboratory guides are provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis for technical capacity building. While Uganda DNS Forum and i3C strive to maintain accurate, industry-aligned curriculum standards, we make no guarantees regarding third-party certification exam outcomes or uninterrupted availability of external partner portals.
